terms of commissioning

Before we begin - please understand that by commissioning me, you are agreeing to these terms. Please make sure to read them over and reach out with any questions. Failure to read these terms does NOT make you exempt!

All prices are listed in USD and payment is handled through PayPal.

The general process is 50% of the price is due at sketch approval, and 50% by completion. If it's easier, you may send the full amount after the sketch is approved, but it is not mandatory to do so. However, the full amount will be due before I provide the high-res version of the piece.

For sketch commissions, I will provide you with a very rough sketch first, and upon your approval, full payment is due before I can continue.

After the sketch is finalized and approved by you, any major changes to the character pose or large details will incur a fee, depending on the complexity of the requested change. Minor changes to details, etc are acceptable within reason, and will be discussed on a case-by-case basis. Any fixes due to my own errors are free of charge. Please review the delivered sketches carefully!!

If you wish to cancel after the sketch is completed, you are eligible for a refund of up to 50% of the full commission price, provided that the majority of the work is not completed. (The 50% due after the sketch is approved is not able to be refunded - the work has already been done!) If you need to cancel for any reason, please contact me ASAP. I am not able to provide a refund after the artwork has been completed, approved and sent out for any reason.

You are not allowed to use the received artwork for profit. (Examples include t-shirt designs, prints, etc.) If you are interested in working with me on a piece intended for re-sale, please contact me with details. These will be worked out on a case-by-case basis and will typically incur additional fees. (For example, you may use a Twitch emote for your avatar and on your channel, but you cannot attempt to scale it up for printing stickers, etc.)

You are allowed to make minor edits to the given piece - cropping it for avatar use, resizing, etc. However, major edits such as removing details, editing out any signatures, etc. are not acceptable - if you have a problem with the piece, please speak up, so I can correct it earlier in the process. If you're unsure of what edits would be OK, always feel free to reach out - I'll be happy to look things over, or even provide the resizes you need!

I reserve the right to cancel your commission - real life happens, and sometimes it's not possible to get the work done in a timely fashion. I will contact you as soon as possible and organize a refund. I've got a full-time job outside of art and sometimes it just isn't in the cards, but I will be up front and communicative about any troubles.

I also reserve the right to call the commission off if you are rude or otherwise abusive. I'm all for being personable and cracking jokes, but there's a line, and you will be warned if you cross it. Continuing to cross that line will result in cancellation.

With all of this in mind, please don't let this deter you from commissioning me - I am pretty easy-going and these are pretty standard terms. If you have any questions, concerns, or complaints, feel free to contact me directly. I'm always happy to clear things up or fix any problems.
